If you were out tromping around looking for a deer, and they just came running up to you yelling "Shoot me shoot me!" It would take all the fun out of hunting.
I mean hunting; HUNT-ing. Its the search, thats the fun part.
You have to search, outsmart, and work for the kill. Thats the whole point. Thats the excitement.
Dating is allot like hunting.
I see so many "Shoot me" girls, running right up to the guy practically begging him to take them out.
No matter how funny, smart, or drop dead gorgeous the "Shoot me" girl is- Its just not going to work because shes made it too easy and taken all the fun out of it for him. So he's going to go hunting for another girl.
Love has to be exciting and it can't be easy.
You only get to truly fall in love ONCE, so dont rush it and enjoy it.
And never, NEVER, be the "Shoot me" girl!

FRIENDSHIP (verb)
Friendship is a VERB.
Having a friend doesn't just mean you call them first whenever you want to have fun.
A Friend is a person who's always got your back.
Does nice things whenever they can to make sure you know the care about you.
Remember the little things like your birthday and favorite candy- not just the big things.
Is there for you always.
And how do you get such a friend? Well you have to be one first.
I never really understood the actually meaning of "Friendship" and how great it was until FarmGirl and Indian Boy.
Nothing puts a bigger smile on my face or makes my day faster than a call just to see how I'm doing. Or a visit to say hi. When they bring me my favorite soda on a day I'm stuck at work fro hours- not because I asked- but because they thought to. Or when I'm having a hard time and my day sucks- a simple can of frosting and a spoon, saying "Hey lets watch a movie"
Knowing that no matter what your always welcome with them. And if you get stranded out in the middle of nowhere they will be the first to get their keys and come save you.
I love these kids SO much!
If one called me tomorrow and asked for a kidney I wouldn't even think twice about giving them both.

Never Really Cared
I never understood how you can mean the world to someone... and then have them not care about you at all.
And I guess the answer to that is you can't.
If you really meant the world to them- if they really cared about you at all, they still would even if they were with someone else.
They may not still be in love with you, but they should still at least care how you are.
Fish and I had the best summer crush story.
I could write a book about everything we did, everything he said, and everything I felt.
And I really did like him, but he let it all go.
But now, even though I try to keep a little contact and know how his life is going (Because we were close friends before so we should still be kinda friends now), he doesn't acknowledge my exsistence.
I mean, he will text me back if I text him, but mostly one word answers and he doesn't try to keep the convo going. Its all one sided.
And I think thats when I had to realize that he never really did care about me at all- or he wouldn't forget me now that he's not benefitting from me. And its unhealthy to have him in my life anymore.
So now he's just a memory.
No longer a friend, not even acquaintances.
If he ever finds the desire to talk to me- he knows where to find me.
But Im not going to be the one finding him anymore.
So I guess... this is Goodbye.

Arrow
I have always been attracted to Archery.
I don't know if its because I'm a Sagittarius or what.
But I do shoot. Re-curve 35 pounds.
And I've made the Arrow my symbol of life.
I want to have one tattooed on my wrist.
See, the arrow is the part of the weapon that matters, not the bow.
Its focused and powerful.
But it has to overcome great resistance to soar.
An arrow can only go forward after its been pulled back.
But the harder its pulled back, the further it goes.
It is a symbol of hope and resistance.
And its my symbol for life.

Goin' Shootin
Indian Boy is the most amazing shot! One time we were hiking and he shot the wing of a passing butterfly with a pistol!
He is not one you want to fool around with! lol
But I learned long ago- if ya wanna hang out with one of these country boys- ask them to go shooting.
They love to shoot, and show off.
And if that doesn't work- bet the $5 they cant do something.
"Five bucks says you can't shoot a can from 500 feet." (Guess what- it worked) lol
There's no easier way to get a guy to hang out with you than goin shooting.

Be The Kind of Girl You Want Your Guy To Be Friends With
Its always flattering when someone shows interest in you.
And its always nice to flirt with new people and all that.
But it upsets me when guys in serious relationships hit on me!
Their like "I love her, but your pretty cute too" and "Aw its just innocent flirting, no harm done."
But it makes me feel like a HomeWrecker.
Not to mention- would they feel the same way if their girl was "Innocent flirting" with another guy?
Sure she still loves you- but he's good looking so its ok.
? Really?
And so I try to discourage it. Often I have to put a guy back in their place- and tell them that it bothers me. And more often then not- then they get upset with you!
Why is it so hard to be faithful and 100% committed?
There is always going to be someone out there who is more attractive, funnier, smarter...
But that doesn't make it ok.
"Just looking" is wrong.
And on another note- If he's willing to walk away from her for you... he will be willing to walk away from you when he finds someone new.
I remember one of my leaders telling us once:
"Be the kind of girl you would want your guy to have been friends with"
Do I want my future man to have a friendship with a girl who would flirt back and tempt him? A HomeWrecker? Would I want her to teach him that its ok?
And this can go for so many other things as well.
All my guy friends, I try to encourage them to be better future men, and know how to treat a woman and whats expected of them.
And I really hope that whatever kind of girl my future guy is hanging out with right now... is trying to do the same.

I Don't Love You
Most of my friends are guys, and we've all been their for each of each others relationships.
And these boys have a moto the go by:
"Get on, Get in, Get off, Get Out."
Which in short means get them and leave them.
But while most of the guys are fine with telling that sad sweetheart they love her. Even though they only say it because that's what the girl wants to hear.
Indian Bow, however, hates that, and refuses to use the "L word"
He gets pretty mad when other people do it. "Don't lie to her" he says.
I like that he feels that way.
He gets them and leaves them same as the rest- but he never lies to them or makes them think he's in it for anything more than fun.
And he is one sexy son of a bitch. Girls follow him like lost sheep. He's a celebrity in his own school.
A true ladies man. haha
Its just that he's so Charismatic. lol I don't know more girls than I can count on one hand who wouldn't go out with him.
But I love that he "Hates Love"

Headin' for the Hills
If I was anywhere else I might have thought twice about meeting a almost stranger out in the hills, all alone, to play with guns. But this is here, and here that's normal.
And going shooting for a first date says allot about a person.
I come from a... safer family, where guns are prohibited. And running out to meet some boy no one knows in the middle of nowhere is unthinkable.
So I sneak out and head for the hills.
He meets me out there in his Big, Sexy, Dodge Truck.
And pulls out several guns. A shotgun. A muzzle loader. And a 22.
The shotgun and I aren't great friends after the deafening hunting experience. But I'm a hell of a shot with the 22- Shooting the lid of a water jug at 30 yards.
And it wouldn't be a party unless something exploded.
So we stick a fire extinguisher out there and he shoots it with the muzzle loader, first shot.
Sadly it wasn't exciting as I expected it to be. No explosion, no cloud. Just started spraying the foam out as if we had pulled the handle.
I'm defiantly taking propane next time. haha
After we rode around the hills in the darkness listening to Blake Shelton the whole way back to my truck.
Not a bad date... this one may be a keeper ;)

Watch it Burn
There is no better way to spend a night then out in the hills.
Get a pile of old wood and a group of friends. Some Luke Bryan blaring out of a truck.
And everyone sits around the fire, sharing stories, and laughing, enjoying the company.
They all park their trucks so the backs face the fire and drop the tailgates.
They don't call it a truck bed for nothin. lol
As its getting late and its getting chilly ya grab the guy you came with and cozi up.
Nothing like cuddling and watching the fire burn.

Muddin' Adventures
There's nothing like the first snow of the season, blanketing everything in a soft white frost.
As the sun rises on the new scene and it all slowly melts away.
Nothin makes better mud.
The boys (Indian Boy and Pirate) called me up just as it was getting dark and we headed out to the hills.
Nothing is more exciting then speeding through the darkness, mud flying everywhere, music blaring, bouncing around the truck. This was the whole purpose of 4-Wheel Drive being invented.
You know you got a good truck when it can slide over an 11 foot bank, land on its side, and then drive away.
Every new dent is a new memory and makes for a hell of a story later.
And you know you have a good friend when he will drive out in the middle of nowhere in the middle of the night to flip you back over. Then dig you out of the ditch and get you home.
I can still see it now; the three of us standing there freezing and covered in mud and snow. Standing in the headlights, trying to dig our way out, pulling tow ropes out and pulling it back over.
That's a memory I'm going to cherish forever, I love those boys. haha

That's not Camo
I'm fairly certain the official colors of my town are Mossy Oak. haha
I love camouflage. And apparently so do most people around here.
But I was recently informed that while there are several types of "Camo" there is only 1 true camouflage- And its not that green and brown blotchy stuff!
Nope. Its Mossy Oak or its not Camo. End of story.

Duck Hunting
Called in a favor and got my friend. Indian Boy, to take me hunting.
I've never shot a shotgun... or killed nothin' but fish. So here we are tromping through the swap and trees in muck boots to our knees.
"Here's the gun" he says, handing it to me. "Now there's gonna be a duck on the water just over that ridge. Go kill it." He instructed.
"Um... Im going to need more specific instructions." I said.
"Button. Aim. Shoot. Now go!" He said.
So I sneek my way up and over the ridge... no duck.
No such luck with the next ridge, and as I see the bird it sees me and goes to take off. "Quick SHOOT!" He whisper shouts... so I did.
But I forgot to aim. Actually I Just kinda pointed the gun in the right direction and pulled the trigger.
Totally hip shot it. haha And suddenly I couldn't hear... or stand up straight. The world was spinning.
The dog and him took of through the trees to get the duck he had apparently shot when I missed.
But I set the gun down. Then I sat down... and I stayed there for a good 5 minutes before he came back for me.
I don't think I'm ever gonna live that one down. lol He tells everyone I "John Wayne'd it"
But they got several ducks and a couple raccoon's they saw in the trees. And it was one of the most memorable adventures I've ever had.

Country Cuteness
"Lets go for a drive" Fish says to me.
Take the long way up to the top of the mountain, driving with one hand on the wheel, the other around my waist. Windows down, music up, hair blowin everywhere.
We get up there into this wide open meadow, get out and go for a hike in the sun.
The grass smelled sweet and the weather was clear. It was beautiful!
Hand in hand we walked, going nowhere particular, just seeing where the trail led.
And he put his arms around my waist and he says "Well how about it? Will you be my girlfriend?" Brown eyes staring right into mine.
It was so perfect it was unbelievable! So sweet I couldn't take it!
So I kissed him. <3 And then he laughed and said "So is that a yes?"

All Kinds of Trouble
My parents left me home alone last weekend... for the first time ever.
They left me a list of things not to do while they were away... I used it as a check list :P

Fish didn't leave until after 1am when he woke FarmGirl and me up to announce he was leaving. haha
Lets just say it was the best week of my life and I can't wait for them to leave me again!

Mud Puddles
Camping in the Spring is the best.
Get yourself a 4-wheeler, and go find every mud puddle in the woods.
Took Bow out there, and he let me drive. We went for a long drive through the woods and meadows. Finding all the secret spots the water had settled and made huge puddles. Watching all the critters scurry as we fly down the trail, smiling and laughing the whole way. Sunlight scattered across the ground, shining through the leafs of the tall white trees.
We were coated from head to toe in mud!
There wasn't a puddle too big I wouldn't drive through. And there's nothing more attractive then wearing mud :P haha

Watchin' the Stars
One of my favorite memories from this year was going out the city park late at night, and climbing up on top of the monument. Laying up there with my best friend, Indian Boy, right beside me.
We just lay there and talked for awhile.
He says one day he wants to go live in the woods awhile, just him and his dog.
There's no other person in this whole world who knows more about me, or who I know more about. He is my best friend, and we can do nothin and still have fun.
Our names are painted on the Cement hut everyone calls the Ocean that looks over the town. We put them there the last day of school this year.
And I know one day its going to kill me when life takes us separate ways and I don't get to see him like this anymore.
But while we lay there, laughing under the stars, I wished it could last forever and we never had to climb down and go home.

My Precious
So I went caving with Indian Boy and Fish.
We crawled pretty deep in before I decided it was getting too tight and I didn't want to go any further.
The boys were disappointed and wanted to venture further into the darkness.
"Go ahead without me. I'll wait." I assured them. Why couldn't I stay here for 20 minutes? Nothing was going to get me.
It took some coaxing from Indian boy and I, Fish was certain I would freak out as soon as they left.
But eventually he did go, and soon I was left alone in complete darkness.
I wasn't freaked out... even a little. And I thought I ought to be. So I started to think of all the creatures that could be hiding in the cave as well... Bears? Too tight a space, they'd never fit. Spiders? Snakes? Too cold down here for them... That creature from Lord of the Rings that was obsessed with the ring... ok that one freaked me out a little!
So I got bored thinking up ways to scare myself and pulled the glow sticks out of my bag. I snapped them on, stabbed them open, and splatted them all over the cave walls around me.
When the boys returned I turned off my flashlight and we all sat in awe at the "Art" I had created. It really was quite beautiful!
